8a. Website Cookies, Meta Pixel and Cross-Brand Remarketing

With your consent to marketing cookies, this website uses the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.). It records that a browser visited this site and stores that signal in a remarketing audience.

This audience is also used to show advertising for our affiliated partner brands — currently Expat Savvy, a Swiss insurance advisory. Anyone relocating to Switzerland must take out basic health insurance within three months of arrival, which is why we consider this relevant to our visitors. No name, e-mail address, relocation file or other service data is used for this purpose — only the browser-level signal described above — and advertisements never reference your visit to this website.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Art. 31 revFADP), which you can withdraw at any time via the cookie settings. Without consent to marketing cookies no pixel is loaded and no data reaches Meta. Audience membership expires automatically after 180 days.

Personal data may be transferred outside Switzerland only when necessary to deliver services — e.g., coordination with organisations or landlords in a neighbouring country.

• The right to know whom to contact — Art. 10 para. 3 lit. d) nFADP concerning the Data Protection Advisor (or Data Protection Officer) and Art. 14 para. 3 nFADP concerning the Data Protection Representative in Switzerland; the right to know whether a decision taken was based solely on automated processing (Art. 21 para. 1).
• The right to object to processing (opt out). Although it is not a right expressly provided for in the regulations (FADP and nFADP), the latter derives from informational self-determination.
• The right of cancellation — Art. 12 para. 2 FADP, Art. 32 para. 2 (c) nFADP.
• The right to have data delivered or to require their transmission to third parties, the so-called right of portability, introduced by the nFADP (Art. 28 nFADP).
